Burleson has 20 years’ experience conducting environmental remediation projects. We specialize in industry leading advisory and remediation support for abandoned mine lands, including mine impacted sediment, groundwater, and surface water. Addressing unique regulatory and technical issues encountered at remote abandoned mine lands with little or no infrastructure is our specialty. Burleson has experience at abandoned mercury, gold (hardrock and hydraulic), copper, tungsten, and magnesite mines throughout California. We design semi-passive treatment systems to address mine drainage, mine waste remediation, and run-on run-off control. Projects have been completed in accordance with CERCLA, CWA, Porter-Cologne, CEQA, NEPA, and NHPA requirements. In addition to abandoned mine lands, Burleson has assessed and remediated leaking underground storage tanks, DOD facilities (missile silos, air force bases), active industrial facilities, and firing ranges. We complete systematic planning, remedial investigations, feasibility studies, engineering evaluation and cost analyses; prepare removal action memorandums and remediation work plans; conduct construction oversight, remediation system operations; and document completion of remediation and project close-out.
